Phab Family Centre

In 1992 I suffered an RTA (Road Traffic Accident) and was in hospital.

After a few weeks I met a younger boy (Wesley) who got knocked down when he bent down to pick up his ball that went into the road and he needed the cubicle (side room) that I was in.  I felt a bit angry when I was moved but not that angry because he was in a worse condition than myself because he took a big blow straight on top of his head.

I went into his cubicle each day to spend time with him and to encourage him to pull through, like I did. I managed to pull through because of all the love and support from my family, they also encouraged me to get better (with a little bit of help from myself).

I started at Phab a little while after the (my) accident, I calmed down quite a bit and was enjoying myself because they respected me and looked at me as a person. But most of all it’s a friendly place to go and I can communicate quite well with everyone (most people).
